Well let's state the facts. LeBron James is a 2 time NBA Champion, multiple time NBA MVP, NBA Finals MVP, and the list goes on. With all of that accomplished, what is it about Lebron James that got many believing his career and claim to greatness, don't even compare to the great ones before him?
Lebron James own decisions might forever hunt him. The fact is Lebron James can't win the big game alone. His two rings came along side with 2 already established NBA All-Stars. True NBA fans criticize Lebron James for not staying true to the Cleveland franchise and leaving. We love the story of a guy who stayed with his team through thick and thin, who grinds it out until they reach the top. Lebron James never won it on his own. When you compare the legacies of a Michael Jordan or even a Kobe Bryant, yes they might of had better support around them but they stayed there until that support came. Can you image Michael Jordan leaving to go play with the likes of a Hakeem Olajuwon, or Magic Johnson? Maybe Kobe Bryant leaving to go play with a Tracy McGrady in his prime, or a Allen Iverson? In any one of them situations I would figure them tandems could win maybe 2 Championships apiece. That's where our questions about Lebron James legacy comes in to play at. When will he get the job done on his own?
Now Lebron James record is 2-4 in the NBA Finals. Great player yes. A dominant force, yes. But when it comes to comparing him to the all-time greats is he in the top 5? Top 10? Maybe he falls into the top 15-20 category. Lebron James career isn't over yet. But as of right now, we shouldn't even think about speaking his name with the likes of a Michael Jordan.
