New Jersey woman gets caught selling her foodstamps to get a car. Rosa Jones, a native of New Jersey has been arrested for cashing in her food stamps to get a car. She got $612 in assistance and cashed it in for $420 every month. Within a year she had received $5,040 in cash. She did this for two years and got a 2010 used Hyundai Sonata for $8,000. At a local neighborhood store in New Jersey, the store allowed people to cash in $100 in foodstamps to receive $70 in cash. Welfare became aware of it by a anonymous tip from someone seeing the lady cash in the benefits multiple times. They contacted the police and the police did a investigation on the store and saw the continuous use of the card in the store and traced it back to her. The car has been confiscated and she has been placed under arrest. Exact charges has not been released.
