Although at this moment we don't want to distract him in a time where he should be 100 percent focus on his dream, the Star Ledger put out an article that has his family outraged. Anyone that knows Shakur boxing story, knows one thing. His grandfather started training him at the age of 5. The bond between him and his grandfather is one of a kind. It's beyond boxing.
The Star Ledger reported that Shakur was train half his life by another trainer. Although many people have played a part in Shakur's success, Shakur was under and train with his grandfather in Newark New Jersey until the age of 16 until his mother made the decision to get her son out of Newark New Jersey. Shakur is only 19 years old. The smack in the face was for anyone to take credit for the dream that his grandfather had for him is disrespectful. One man vision became a young kid success. There was times when Shakur wanted to quit boxing and his grandfather refuse to give up his dream for his grandson. These are the stories that the family remember that the outside world will never hear about. It's an example of the faith and hardwork Shakur's grandfather put into his grandson. Before anyone knew of or believed in Shakur his grandfather did.
Shakur's aunt Za'kkiyyah Moses could not believe what she was reading when she read the article. Willie Moses is Shakur's grandfather and also her father. She felt like it was stripping him of all the work he put in. All the years of the two of them driving to every event. All the years of training. All the years of bonding. All the moments they shared before anyone came into Shakur's life. So when they Star Ledger reported someone else trained Shakur, it was totally false. Not only did Willie Moses train Shakur before anyone, until this very day he is still his trainer.
